, or medical care for managing pain and other symptoms of cancer. Both programs send visiting professional nurses, counselors, home health aides and volunteers to patients. Working with the patient’s own physician as a team, these health care workers strive to help patients live fully and as pain-free as possible. Charitable contributions and donations support the volunteer program and help to offset costs of professional services for those who need help but cannot pay either privately or by insurance.
In 2010 Coastal Hospice celebrated its 30th anniversary.
