History

Coconut Creek High School is a public school in the city of Coconut Creek, Florida. The school is also affectionately known as Cougar Country.
The Cougars pride themselves on having not just an outstanding athletic department, but an award winning Journalism team (The Harbinger), Superior Theater Arts department, and Scholastic Arts department that has drawn international attention due to aspiring artist Meynardo Garcia's deportation battle.

Year after year Coconut Creek tries to improve on everything. This academic year Coconut Creek is facing many changes from a new principle to the amount of enrollment decreasing. Being that the school failed to improve for several years now, over 300 students enrolled into a new school through the AYP program.

Principal

The 2008 academic school year commenced with the appointment of a new/returning principal, David Jones, by Broward Schools Superintendent Jim Notter. Jones hails from "A" rated Coral Glades High School

 which opened in 2003 with Jones at its helm. Jones led Glades to its first "A" in the 2007 - 2008 school year. At the beginning of the 2011-12 school year Jones was replace by Scott Fiske, and also two assistant principal Kenneth May and Missy Jones were replace by Steve Carruth and Gina Montagnino.

Student schedule

Coconut Creek High School students presently attend school from 7:30 AM to 2:30 PM, Monday through Friday on a seven period schedule. The current schedule requires students to attend Seven 51 minute classes each day with a 5 minute passing period between each class.
