The school has a strong athletic program including tennis, football, basketball, track, soccer, wrestling, and golf. According to the school's website, both the boys' and girls' golf teams, girls' volleyball team, and girls' track and field team were state champions in 2010.

The schools favorite chant while playing rival Powell is, "Powell humps sheep". The chant spells out the initials of Powell High School (PHS).
