The station opened on 4 December 1855 and was closed for goods traffic on 4 January 1965. The passenger station remains open, for trains to Belfast, Derry and Portrush.

Service

Mondays to Saturdays there is a two-hourly service towards Derry Waterside or Belfast Great Victoria Street on the Belfast-Derry line and an hourly service towards Portrush on the Coleraine-Portrush line with some services on this line extending to Belfast Great Victoria Street and extra services at peak times.

On Sundays there are five trains in each direction on the Belfast-Derry line and a two hourly service on the Coleraine-Portrush line.
