Modernizing the college admissions process, these events make for a convenient and cost-effective way for students, parents, counselors and colleges to interact by utilizing the internet. With more than 60,000 attendees at the most recent fair, CollegeWeekLive is committed to hosting a number of events annually, primarily in the months of November and March. CollegeWeekLive visitors can watch admissions experts speak on topics such as how to prepare for the SAT, how to write a winning application essay and how to pay for college, and have their questions answered via live chat. The event also features special promotions, scholarship opportunities and fun giveaways for those who register.

CollegeWeekLive Features:

Each CollegeWeekLive fair includes keynote presentations, information on stud ent financial aid, college admission trends and live interactive question and answer discussions with admission representations. Participants can also video chat with students currently enrolled in selected colleges who offer their options and perspective on their schools and college life.

Events

CollegeWeekLive hosts virtual events year round. While the largest shows remain CollegeWeekLive FALL and CollegeWeekLive SPRING, the organization has also added events like Study in Scotland, International Day, STEM Day, Regional Days (New York Day, California Day) and Virtual Open Houses.

History

The first CollegeWeekLive occurred in November 2007 followed by a second show in March 2008. In June, 2008 CollegeWeekLive held a "Paying For College" event that was focused primarily on financing college education. Another "standard" online college fair was held in November 2008. With each show (with the exception of the "Paying For College" event), the number of participating schools and attendees has increased. Each show has had 20–60 hours of live presentations from admissions experts in various fields. CollegeWeekLive makes this content available to audiences on demand if they are unable to attend the live show.

On January 14, 2010, CollegeWeekLive hosted "Paying For College," a special one-day event answering the question of how to finance college in today’s economy. Attendees met with financial aid officials and participated in video webcasts with experts in the fields of scholarships, grants, financial aid, and all aspects of paying for college.
