Cory Blight is an ARIA nominated multi-instrumentalist, composer and producer, who resides in Melbourne, Australia.

Biography

Cory began his musical career in Tasmania. In 1998 he won the national campus band competition (the year after Eskimo Joe) as lead vocalist and drummer for alternative rock band Big Wally. Cory was a founding member of Big Wally, who formed in 1996 and broke up in 2001.

From 2001-2004, Cory was drummer for Melbourne punk band The Surrogate, who achieved high rotation on Triple J with songs "She Said" and "Punk Drunk." After they folded in 2004, three members (Cory Blight, Jack Weaving and Scott Targett) went on to form notable indie rock band Dukes Of Windsor. The Dukes achieved gold status with their single The Others (TV Rock vs Dukes of Windsor, Sony). They performed live on Channel V, Rove Live and close the MTV awards in 2007.

In 2009 Cory departed as drummer for Dukes Of Windsor, and began writing material for hardcore hip-hop two piece Over-reactor, who he founded in January 2010 with former Mammal vocalist Ezekiel Ox. Over-reactor went on to support Karnivool, COG, FloatingMe and Front End Loader, and are currently working on their third studio album.

Cory now works as manager and music producer at Grand Vinyl Music, Melbourne, and writes, tours and produces music for Over-reactor.
