History
The Counter Intelligence Agency (SACIA) of South Africa was established in 2010 to develop Industrial fraud prevention and counter intelligence measures through its Market Research & Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) process. The organizations main collaboration is with industrial organizations and law enforcement agencies.
Functions
The SACIA strives to provide valuable insight on important issues by gathering and analyzing data in context and producing timely and relevant products for customers at all levels of security and law enforcement through its Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) products. The SACIA may also engage in covert actions at the appeal of law enforcement agencies. The Counter Intelligence Agency’s primary function is to collect information and to advise legal entities, public policymakers and law enforcement agencies. The agency conducts covert functions through its special law enforcement task team.
