, the city has a total area of 4.6 square miles (11.9 km²), of which, 4.6 square miles (11.9 km²) of it is land and 0.04 square mile (0.1035995244 km²) of it (0.43%) is water.
The top three non-African American ancestries reported in Country Club Hills as of the 2000 census were German (2.0%), Irish (1.0%) and Polish (1.51%).[4]
There were 5,297 households out of which 40.9% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 32.4% were married couples living together, 43.0% had a female householder with no husband present, and 9.6% were non-families. 12.0% of all households were made up of individuals and 3.0% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 5.05 and the average family size was 7.42.
In the city the population was spread out with 30.7% under the age of 18, 8.7% from 18 to 24, 29.0% from 25 to 44, 24.5% from 45 to 64, and 7.1% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 34 years. For every 100 females there were 85.0 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 79.9 males.
The median income for a household in the city was $57,759.The per capita income for the city was $22,817. About 6.4% of families and 3.5% of the population were below the poverty line, including 15.0% of those under age 18 and 9.1% of those age 65 or over.

As of the 2010 census[3], there were 16,169 people, 5,297 households, and 4,248 families residing in the city. The population density was 3,504.4 people per square mile (1,354.2/km²). There were 5,491 housing units at an average density of 1,190.1 per square mile (459.9/km²). The racial makeup of the city was 4.51% White, 91.90% African American, 0.15% Native American, 1.01% Asian, 0.54% from other races, and 1.88% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 1.73% of the population.The top three non-African American ancestries reported in Country Club Hills as of the 2000 census were German (2.0%), Irish (1.0%) and Polish (1.51%).[4]
