Craven Country Jamboree

Craven Country Jamboree is an annual country music festival
. It was originally called the Big Valley Jamboree, and was first established by Father Lucien Larre, as a fundraiser for his Bosco Homes for emotionally disturbed youth. A successor event, the Kinsmen Rock'N the Valley rock music festival, ran until 2004. The country music format was revived in 2005 to the Craven Country Jamboree. The festival is held every summer, in July, for four days, hosting 23,500 people in the Qu'Appelle Valley. Headline acts at the jamboree are paid from $350,000 US to $1 million US for 75 minutes of live performance, in 2009 George Strait
was paid $1.25 million US and Taylor Swift
was paid $1 million US for their performances at the Jamboree. . The music festival has campsites in the valley for those attending, and buses provided by SGI
to Regina
and Moose Jaw. In 2010 the festival had major weather problems but did not cancel the festival, some attendees waited over 18 hours in line because of road problems. In October 2010 the festival invested in road improvements. .
