It was erected in 1941, and became Pine Bush's only school. It originally taught grades 1-12. After Pine Bush High School was built in 1961, Crispell became the Middle School. It has been renovated numerous times. The original part of the school has 12-foot (4 m) ceilings, while the additions have 10-foot (3 m) ceilings. It currently has around 900 students. It and Circleville Middle School
