Encyclopedia
Crnogorska Enciklopedija (Montenegrin Encyclopedia; formerly Montenegrowiki) was an internet encyclopedia project
written in Montenegrin language
, which had existed from 2006 to 2008. It was started by the IT Association of Montenegro in 2006 as an experimental project. Its goal is to provide a base for a future Montenegrin Wikipedia
. It has announced that 2008 will be the "year of development" of the project, however as of late 2008, it is nonfunctional. It used the MediaWiki
software, running at version 1.6.8, and contains no advertisements.
By 9 January 2008, Crnogorska Enciklopedija had had just over 1,000 articles. Like Wikipedia, the articles are released under the GNU Free Documentation License
.
Its authors and webmasters are Darko Bulatović (User:WikiSysop) and Damir Mustafić (User:OutLook)
According to Darko Bulatović in an interview for the Montenegrin daily newspaper, Vijesti
, the wiki-encyclopedia has been a victim of wiki-hacking, having been attacked by users from Serbia.
In a statement made by Darko Bulatović, the wiki will be moving to newer servers within the year and will be updating MediaWiki software on the wiki as well.
As of late 2008, the project is closed.
