The high school is well-known for its 3 time state champion 3A football program. The Cuero Gobblers football team's overall record is 654 wins 338 loses 38 ties as of the end of the 2010 season. The Gobblers are currently under the leadership of head coach Rick Owens.Gobblers's 2010 season record was 9-3.
