Cygnet ECM
Encyclopedia
Cygnet ECM is a document management
and enterprise content management
(ECM) product. ECM technology allows offices the option of working almost completely electronically, reducing paper-printing and allowing users to work with their files from any location with an Internet connection. The AIIM, the ECM Association, defines ECM as "the technologies used to capture, manage, store, preserve and deliver content and documents related to organisational processes."
The primary product is particularly aimed at SMEs, Small and Medium Enterprises (also known as Small and Medium Businesses); businesses with up to 250 employees. The reason for this focus is that, “For some SMEs content management consumes increasingly more time and attention than their core business. The company is distracted and its ability to deal with daily operations is inevitably compromised.”
