Description

Dorsally black, each scale with a fine whitish edge. Ventrally two alternating series of large white blotches. Lower surface of tail orange.

Six upper labials, third and fourth entering the eye. No enlarged ventrals, 22 rows of scales around the body. Subcaudals 5.

The type specimen measures 43 cm (17 inches) in total length.
