Dhinakaran left his bank job and began a public life as an evangelist on 10 October 1962. He established the Jesus Calls ministry in Chennai. His first radio gospel broadcast was aired by FEBA Radio on 2 March 1972. The magazine, Jesus Calls, books and other printed media preaching his gospel messages were being published from May 1973. Audio cassettes and records were released worldwide in the 1980s. His gospel video programs are still broadcast on television in various languages around the world.Dhinakaran also founded Karunya Institute of Technology in Coimbatore
