The FM station has been operating in Cebu since 1979 on test broadcast and officially on air on March 1, 1980 and just recently celebrated its 31 years. The station's studio is located at the 2nd Floor of Gaisano Country Mall, Banilad, Cebu City. Y101 is a member of the KBP.

Y101’s audience is strongest in the 13-35 male and female groups, registering a high 84.3% dominance in the A, B, and C market.
