Daily Times is recognized as a newspaper that advocates liberal
and secular ideas. The DT has gained popularity as well as notoriety due to some of its editorials, considered controversial in some parts of Pakistan, but lauded in the international press. For example, the Daily Times came under blistering criticism by some in the ethnic Pashtoon community at the end of 2006 when it published a highly controversial editorial “Say ‘yes’ to ‘naswar’!”.
