Dan was born in Capinteria, California. He joined the station in January 1989 hired as the sports anchor. Until 1995 Dan had decided he wanted to get into the news side of Broadcast Journalism, so he later became a morning anchor. Dan started anchoring News10 Good Morning in 1995 with Amy Carlisle, Kiran Chetry

Dan graduated from San Francisco State University
in 1976 with a Bachelor Arts Degree in Broadcast Communications. Before joining News10 in early 1989, he previously worked at KEYT-TV
in Santa Barbara as a Sports Director.He was also a color commentator and sports anchor for KTMS
Radio in Santa Barbara, and has worked at KFRC
and KGO Radio in San Francisco.
Dan currently lives in West Laguna in Elk Grove
