 swimmer from the United States, who won a total number of four Olympic medals during his career. He is best known for his powerful underwater start, the eponymous "Berkoff Blastoff". His brother, Kevin Berkoff, lives in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and works as Head Coach of William Penn Charter School's Swim team.

In 2005 Berkoff was made a member of the International Swimming Hall of Fame
