David "Dolly" Christy was an Australian rules football

(WAFL).
Christy began his career with Melbourne Football Club
in the Victorian Football Association from 1890 until 1895. He became a driving force in establishing football in Western Australia, playing senior football for 16 years in the west. He played with Fremantle, then with Imperials, and upon that club's dissolution he was a co-founder of East Fremantle Football Club
in 1898.
In 1996 Christy was inducted into the Australian Football Hall of Fame
