. He was raised in Oak Park, Michigan, where he atteded Ferndale High School. At school he was a baseball player and demonstrated creativity. He graduated from the University of Michigan before moving to California.

In October 2006 it was announced that Kemper would return to the folds of the Sci Fi Channel
