Early life

Maraghy was born in Plymouth, Massachusetts, March 17, 1952. As a youth, he served on the crew of The Tabor Boy, a 100-ft schooner

 that sailed up and down the east coast. During high school, he was a tour guide at Plimoth Plantation. Maraghy received his start in sports serving as the General Chairman of the 1986 Greater Greensboro Open, a PGA Tour
