military medal that was in use from 1965 to 2003. It was named after General Christiaan de Wet
. It was awarded to members of the Commandos who completed twenty years qualifying service, and was originally (1965-1986) restricted to officers. The decoration has been superseded by the Medalje vir Troue Diens
and the Emblem for Reserve Force Service
