on Glasgow's Southside and attended Our Lady of the Rosary RC Primary School and later Lourdes RC Secondary School. As a regular and a stand out for both Primary and Secondary School teams a move into the senior game looked inevitable. Keenan began his professional football career at Clydebank
where remained until the clubs demise. After leaving Clydebank, he began playing for amateur Glasgow side Pollok United. His spell at Pollok earned him a move to Greenock Morton
in 2002. He made his début for Morton in a cup-tie against Queen of the South
in 2002 and was subsequently shown a red card following his tackle on former Celtic
winger Brian McLaughlin.
Keenan operates as either in defence
or midfield

He was loaned out to Second Division
side Ayr United
during the January 2008 transfer window. He joined Ayr United permanently in May 2008.
He also scored in the Ayrshire
derby, making himself a hero amongst the locals and is currently signed on a 2 year deal at Somerset Park

season 2010 - 2011 proved to be very frustrating for Dean "big head" Keenan, after suffering a serious knee injury, and he missed the entire season,
