Career
Stagniūnas arrived in the U.S. from Lithuania to skate with his first ice dance partner, Laura Whipple, and was trained in ice dance by both Walter Wielunski and Natalia Dubova; He and Whipple competed at the senior level in ice dance at Lake Placid representing Lithuania, and took third place. He then competed with Kayla Nicole Frey internationally on the junior level. They were three-time (2004–2006) Lithuanian silver medalists.His next partnership was with American Katherine Copely
