, and is one of the largest hospitals in the UK. The two hospitals are part of a single NHS Foundation Trust. The hospital has completed a massive rebuild, doubling the size of the buildings. This modern facility has 1139 beds, of which 30% are in single occupancy rooms, and 35 operating theatres. More than 300 consultants and 7000 nurses and other staff provide medical care for a local population of approximately 660,000 people and subspecialty populations of over one million patients. The hospitals are major teaching centres for the University of Nottingham
