Characteristics

A white or almost white, crystalline powder; odourless or almost odourless.

Freely soluble in water ; soluble in glycerol ; sparingly soluble in ethanol (96%); practically insoluble in chloroform, in ether , in liquid paraffin and in fixed oils.
