Brandao proved to be a loose cannon with a confrontations with Marcus Brimage and Steven Siler. In the fifth episode it was announced that he would fight Siler on episode six. In this fight Diego charged out of the gate with a flying knee and knocked Siler unconscious 30 seconds into the first round with a left hook. With this win he advanced to the Semi-Finals to fight former WEC fighter, Bryan Caraway
. Brandao defeated Caraway, via TKO, nearing the end of round one to move into the live finale on December 3.

Early life
Brandao was born and raised in Manaus, Brazil. At the age of sixteen, his father died. His father's last words were for him to take care of his family. This resulted in him starting to use drugs and carry a gun. His good friend told him to stop and that's when he began to take up fighting.Turning Pro
Brandao made his MMA debut against Michel Bastos which he won via submission. He went 2-1 before competing against UFC alumni Ronys Torres. He lost the fight by TKO. His biggest win to date was against UFC veteran Brian Foster in which he won by KO in the first round. Since that win he has gone 6-4 with 3 wins by KO, 2 by submission, and 3 by decision.The Ultimate Fighter
