The charts are made up of charts tracking streaming content, downloads, background music, ringtones, karaoke and a combine overall singles chart, listing domestic and international sales, in weekly, monthly and year-end format. It started tracking sales on 11 April 2010. It is complied from online data provided by web-based music providers: Bugs, Dosirak, Melon, Mnet and Soribada.

 was launched in February 2010. It was originally planned to be a bi-annual chart when the Gaon Charts launched in early 2010. Eventually, the chart covered this and was released weekly and monthly like all the other charts.
