Kouis was born in 1955 and began his career at Agrotikos Asteras
in 1970. After five years he joined Aris where, over the next 16 years he would make his mark on Greek football, participating in 473 Alpha Ethniki
games and scoring 142 goals. Among his distinctions, Kouis was the top league scorer in 1981 with 21 goals.
During his football career Kouis was capped 33 times scoring 7 goals. The high point of his international career came on 15 October 1980 when his goal helped Greece
