(M.Arch) degree or, in some cases, another degree. The degree is not required for state licensure, which requires as a prerequisite, either a B.Arch, M.Arch or D. Arch (in some states the educational requirement is waived with equivalent years of experience, varies by state check NCARB website for most current information). Existing 3.5 year M.Arch programs are currently eligible for a title upgrade to D.Arch - this is, of course, at the discretion of each college/university granting the degree. Although, there is currently only one accredited degree program for a D Arch degree at the University of Hawaii, Manoa (check NAAB website for most current accredited programs). There is actually an ongoing debate to consolidate all architecture degrees to one, professional D.Arch, similar to Law curriculum's LL.B to JD upgrade.
