. Dominic was also part of dancing group in 1991 and danced on Star Search, which they won. New World went on to Capital Records were they released a song, Dominic sung lead. His talent did not go unnoticed, and he was offered a solo record, but refused to leave the group. In 1993 Lucero was diagnosed with lymphatic cancer and was unable to continue his dancing or acting career. A year later, he died in Los Angeles
