The Dr. Harty Cup is a hurling
competition for schools in the province of Munster
in Ireland
. The cup is presented to the winners of the Munster
Colleges Senior "A" Hurling Championship. Players have to be under the age of 19 to compete. The winning team represents Munster
in the Dr. Croke Cup
which is awarded to the winners of the All-Ireland Senior "A" Colleges Hurling Championship. In the past few years, the runner-up has also represented the province. Many of the most famous hurlers first came to prominence in this competition. The 2009 final was won by Thurles CBS who won their first title since 1956.
