The school is named in honour of Edward Daniel Feehan, the first superintendent of education of the St. Paul’s Roman Catholic School Division No. 20 in the city of Saskatoon. He was also the first principal of St. Mary School, the first school in the division.

Prior to 2007, Feehan used to average a student population of thirteen hundred students, however, when Bethlehem High School opened that year, that average dropped dramatically to six or seven hundred.

 are also offered. Feehan offers several courses for students in grades nine to twelve, such as the standard educational programs, woodworking, cooking, and computer classes. The school also is known for its volunteer work with participants of the Special Olympics

Sports

The school athletic teams are the "Trojans" for the boys and the "Troys" for the girls. The school colors are blue and gold (usually represented by yellow).
