EADS Innovation Works (short EADS-IW) is a wholly owned division of EADS (European Aeronautic Defence and Space) Company
a global aerospace and defense company, headquartered in the Netherlands, whose business depends heavily on the development and integration of state-of-the-art technologies into its products.
EADS-IW operates the EADS corporate Research and Technology (R&T) laboratories and a global network of Technical Centers, with a long-term horizon focus. EADS-IW employs approximately 600 people including doctorates and university interns.
The teams within EADS Innovation Works are organized into seven trans-national Technical Capability Specialties:
EADS-IW supports all the EADS business units, and have the mission to identify new value-creating technologies and develop technological skills and resources. To this end, EADS-IW supports partnerships with universities and research centers.
EADS-IW has two main sites; Suresnes
(near Paris
, France
), and Ottobrunn
(near Munich
, Germany
). Proximity centers are maintained in Toulouse
, Nantes
and Hamburg
to support knowledge transfer to these two business units. EADS-IW also operates an R&T center in Singapore
, has launched a center in Getafe
, Spain, and in 2007, in the U.K.
A liaison office in Moscow
facilitates relations with Russian scientific institutes.
