EDUCANG Limited was originally an initiative of the Anglican Church of Australia
and the Uniting Church in Australia.
The name of the company reflected a partnership in independent schooling. The word EDUCANG is composed of:-
Directors of the Board were volunteers who were drawn exclusively from the two auspicing churches.
EDUCANG originally owned and operated several colleges in south-east Queensland. This included Forest Lake College
, Mary McConnel School
, The FLC International Centre, The Lakes College and The Springfield College
.
The Board claimed that this arrangement offers economies of scale which permit low college fees.
In October 2009, the Anglican Diocese of Brisbane became sole owner of the EDUCANG company, and therefore, took responsibility for Forest Lake College and The Springfield College. The Uniting Church in Australia had previously taken sole ownership of The Lakes College at Mango Hill.
On 4 November 2010, EDUCANG's name was changed to FSAC Ltd (Forest Lake & Springfield Anglican Colleges). This new entity renamed the colleges - St John's Anglican College and The Springfield Anglican College. "Rebranding" would commence immediately with the names to officially take effect on 1 January 2011.
