Education

The Eagle Grove Community School District serves children from PreK to 12th grade. It serves the communities of Eagle Grove, Woolstock, Thor, and Vincent. There are over 1000 students in grades K-12, making it the biggest school district in Wright County. The district has built a new P/K-4 elementary school attached to the middle school after approving a bond referendum.

School sports

Eagle Grove High School competes in an "Iowa" high school sports conference called the North Central Conference. The conference consisted of 10 schools that are in 1A, 2A & 3A. Eagle Grove has more individual, conferences and state championships in their history than the other 2 county high schools combined. Just in boys cross country & wrestling, the Ealges have 184 championships combined in those sports alone and that's not counting any other sport.

Projects

The Eagle Grove community is completing improvement projects. The Wright Medical Wellness Center was just completed. The Eagle Grove Family Aquatic Center as well as the new Eagle Grove Elementary School were also recently completed. Casey's General Store made an investment in the community by building a new store. As of 2008 the community of Eagle Grove has been raising money for a movie theater.

County fair

Eagle Grove is one of the few non-county-seat towns in Iowa to be home of the county fair. The Wright County District Junior Fair is held in early July each summer in Greenwood Park and brings people from the region to Eagle Grove. Recent improvements have been made to the fair grounds as the Wright County Fair continues to expand.
