Ease is a free presentation program
for the GNOME
desktop environment.
With its very simple and neat interface design Ease requires little learning time.
There are various templates for the creation of new presentations. Images and videos can be embedded into the presentations. Appropriate media content can be searched directly from within the program interface out of the portfolio of online platforms like Flickr
or the Open Clip Art Library
. Results can be exported to the Portable Document Format
(PDF), PostScript
, or HTML.
The project was initiated by Nate Stedman in December 2009. The next summer Stéphane Maniaci joined in, who contributed to the project in the course of a Google Summer of Code
scholarship.
Ease is being spread together with its whole source code as free software
under the terms of version 3 of the GNU General Public License
(GPL).
It is being developed in the programming language Vala
and uses GTK+
for the user interface and Clutter for the rendering of animations.
