East Bay Senior High School was chartered in 1957 on Big Bend Road in Gibsonton, Florida
. The school's current facility was established in 1971, on a new campus adjacent to the east of the old one. Its former campus is now the campus of Eisenhower Middle School.

The school surpasses its 1,700 student capacity on a regular basis. In the 2005-2006 school year, the school held around 2,300 students. With the opening of two new high schools--Spoto High School

--in 2006, the school's population since then holds steady at around 2,000 students.
The principal is Sharon Morris, former Assistant Principal.
East Bay's Athletic Director is Scot Tipton.
Former East Bay wrestling coach Tom Lota was a 2006 inductee into the Florida Wrestling Hall of Fame. In 2011, the school gymnasium was named for him.
