Later after graduating with an Economics Special Degree he joined National Savings Bank

as an executive in 1975. Before being appointed to the current position he has been the General Manager / Chief Executive Officer for over five years for national Savings Bank.

During his career Eastman has held various positions such as President of the Association of Professional Bankers of Sri Lanka, Director/Vice Chairman of Financial Ombudsman (Sri Lanka), Director of NSB Fund Management Co, Asha Central Hospital Ltd, Mercantile Leasing Ltd, Director of Wealth Trust Corporation Ltd.

Eastman is a council member / fellow of Association of Professional Bankers of Sri Lanka and Sri Lanka Institute of Training and Development.
