Eastside Projects was conceived by artist-curator Gavin Wade and is organised by a founding collective comprising Simon and Tom Bloor, Céline Condorelli, Ruth Claxton and James Langdon. The gallery opened on 26 September 2008 with its inaugural exhibition, This is the Gallery and the Gallery is Many Things. Eastside Projects is located on Heath Mill Lane, and with VIVID

and Beatrice Gibson. Eastside Projects' offices sit at the back of the gallery within a wooden structure designed by artists Heather and Ivan Morison called Pleasure Island (Birmingham) 2008.
