Ebn-e Babooyeh cemetery, Ibn-e Baabevey, or Ibn Babviyeh is located in Iran
in the town of Rey
(now a neighborhood inside Tehran
's city limits).
Many Iranian giants of sports, literature, arts, culture, religion, and politics such as Gholamreza Takhti
, Ali Akbar Dehkhoda
, Hossein Fatemi
, Mir Ghotbeddin Mohammad Angha, and Jalaleddin Ali Mir Abolfazl Angha are buried there.
Prime minister Mohammad Mosaddegh asked to be buried there after his death, besides many of the martyrs of 30 Tir uprising but the Pahlavi king did not let this happen.
The cemetery is named out of respect for Mohhammad ben Ali ben Houssein ben Mosa ben Babviyeh-e-Qomi (Ibn Babviyeh), a famous scholar of Shia Islam. He taught in Baqdad and lived in Rey
at the end of his life. His works (more than 300 volumes) are used as valid sources in Jurisprudence
. His most famous book is Man La-yahzar al-faqih . He died in 381 A.H. and his tomb is in Ebn-e Babooyeh.
