, and 0.36% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.14% of the population.
There were 542 households out of which 35.8% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 57.7% were married couples
living together, 7.4% had a female householder with no husband present, and 30.4% were non-families. 25.1% of all households were made up of individuals and 11.4% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.56 and the average family size was 3.10.
In the village the population was spread out with 26.8% under the age of 18, 8.3% from 18 to 24, 30.7% from 25 to 44, 20.3% from 45 to 64, and 13.9% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 35 years. For every 100 females there were 98.3 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 96.5 males.
The median income for a household in the village was $40,759, and the median income for a family was $51,250. Males had a median income of $32,569 versus $22,426 for females. The per capita income

In 1928, The Edgar Women's Club obtained books from the Wisconsin Traveling Library and this functioned as the local library until 1946. In 1948 preschool storytimes began at the library. As the County Library grew and provided more services to the branch libraries, the village stepped in to provide building space so that the public would have a larger library to enjoy.
In 1973 the Edgar Library became a branch library of the newly formed Marathon County Public Library
when the Wausau Public Library and Marathon County Library merged.
The County-wide building program funded the remodeling of the former Edgar Bank in 1994, giving the public more books, computers and more space for family and children's programs.
