He was slowly winning a permanent spot on his current team, Cruz Azul but he suffered a dramatic fracture while attempting to recover a ball for his team and broke his ankle, in a 2007 match against Estudiantes Tecos UAG. After many months of recovery, he returned to the field in 2007 and has become an important starting eleven player on the team.
