Formation and self titled album: 1997-2000

In march of 1997, Matt Moseman formed Edgewater. Matt managed to find members by looking through local newspapers and magazines.
It began as a four piece with Matt playing guitar, instead of only focusing on vocals.
In march of 1998, Micah Creel, Jeremy "Worm" Rees, and Justin "Shorty" Middleton of 40% would join, thus making the complete lineup (at the time). They would release their self titled album in July 1999. The band began headlining local and regional venues in support of their album, which was only released locally.

Lifter And South of Sideways: 2001-2004

 in 2001, and began touring and showcasing it across the country.
In January 2003, Ricky Wolking would replace the original bass player, thus preserving the 5 piece lineup. In June, Edgewater signed to major label Wind-up records and began working on their major label debut. In April 2004, South of Sideways

 was released. The first single, "Eyes Wired Shut" got airplay on many radio stations. It was featured on the soundtrack for the movie The Punisher and also featured on the World Wrestling Entertainment

We Are Not Robots... And Break Up

In June 2005, the band parted ways with Wind-up records and began working on an independent release. The album was named We're Not Robots...

We're Not Robots... is the fourth studio album by Dallas hard rock band Edgewater. It is their first release since parting ways with Wind-up Records. The album was completely produced independently but is of comparable or even better quality than many major label releases...

. It was released in August 2006 through Forevergreen records and distributed by Rockridge music.
The band remained inactive for the last part of 2007 and through mid 2008, until an announcement on their myspace revealed that they were working on new material for a 2009 album release.

On July 2 however, the band posted a message entitled "Goodbye and Farewell", stating they were trying to get together and play some live shows, but it turned out impossible to get on the same schedule.

The band is now split into various new groups. They are The Singularity Project, Boynamedcircus, June Halo, and The Commotion - among others.
