After being convinced by Mukada, Ricardo takes Eduardo to demand that Miguel raise his newborn child and do a better job at parenting than the two of them have done. Miguel goes through whole-heartedly but then the baby dies shortly afterwards due to medical complications. When Ricardo becomes sick with Alzheimer's disease, Eduardo and Miguel watch over Ricardo during his last days alive.
