Egypt Post, established in 1865, is one of the oldest and most time-honored Egyptian institutions, which enjoys the trust of its customers, amounting to more than 15 million. Such trust which lasted for long years, increased the number of the customers, who joined the financial services of the Egypt post, only in the last year, to two million customers.

Egypt post, in the first place, is a socioeconomic body, which directly contributes to help with the state's plans, aiming to achieve the development for the citizens, so as to feel the outcome of such development, in addition to securing the quality and velocity of providing the service.

. Miratti took the responsibility of sending and distributing the letters in return for reasonable prices. He transferred his activity to Cairo

 franchise to transport the post to the north of Egypt, where it stipulated a fine to be paid to the Europea Posta, if any was caught red handed transferring a mail.

Khedive Ismaiel realized the importance of the Europea Posta and purchased it from Motsi, after the departure of his partner Tito Kini on October 29, 1864. The Egyptian government offered Motsi the position of the general manager of the Post and in January 2, 1865, the title of Europea Posta was transferred to the Egyptian government. Such day is considered a historical day for the Egyptian post and then became the Post Day.

Establishment

At its beginning, Egypt Post was affiliated to the Ministry of Occupations, then its fellowship was transferred to a number of ministries, and in 1865, Egypt Post was affiliated to the Ministry of Finance

 related to the organization of post works has been issued under the approval of the Ministry of Finance in December 21, 1865, stipulating that transferring messages and issuing post stamps is an exclusive work for the Egyptian government. In March 1876, a decree has been promulgated for all post offices, abiding all employees with a mandatory uniform

In 1919, the law No. 7 has been passed to establish the Ministry of Transportation

A comprehensive law, No. 9 was issued later on to set all the fees of transporting the post, and in the same year the headquarters of the post management has been moved from Alexandria to Cairo in its current building at Al Aataba Square.

In 1934, the tenth conference of the international post has been held in Cairo, on the 70th anniversary of establishing the Egyptian Post. After the July 1952 revolution, a separate budget has been allocated to the post and had the right to direct its surplus

In 1957, the presidential

 decree No. 710 has been promulgated, stating that the establishment of the Egyptian Post Authority to replace the previous Post Authority. In 1959, the civilian services systems, including local post offices and post agencies, started their service, and in 1961, the secondary Post school has been established under a presidential decree. In 1965, the high institute of Post Affairs was also established, and in 1975 joined the faculty of commerce, Helwan University

In 1966, a presidential decree has been issued to establish the General Post Authority to replace the Egyptian Post Authority, and in 1970, the law No. 16 has been passed to regulate the Egyptian Post. The year 1982 witnessed the issuance of the law No. 19 to establish the National Post Authority to replace the General Post Authority and to be affiliated to the Ministry of Transportations.

A ministerial decree No. 70 for the year 1982 related to the regulation of Post Authority's personnel, (a special regulation), has been issued. Similarly another decree No. 55 for the year 1982 in respect of the financial regulation of the authority, (a special regulation), has been issued.
