History

The circulated area was property of the Barbosa family during the mid-19th century, it was used as a cattle pen

 in which 50 head of livestock roamed. As the family lost properties in the 20th century, Domingo Díaz claimed this land, el potrerito means "the small enclosed piece of pasture land" in Spanish

. Don Domingo had several daughters, and so divided the land into seven elongated parts. Several houses were built on the plots, and thus adding to a different style of town-planning. The 19th century historic lienzo still stands as it circulates the area today.

Population

Although no official population count has been attributed exclusively to the area, El Potrerito's population is composed of approximately 70 inhabitants.
