The Electoral district of Brunswick is an electorate of the Victorian Legislative Assembly
. It is located in the northern suburbs of Melbourne and is based around the suburb of Brunswick
.
The seat has had three periods of existence. The seat was first formed in 1904 and abolished in 1955 before being reestablished in 1976. It was abolished again in 1992 only to be reestablished again in 2002. It has always been held by the Australian Labor Party
.
On 3 June 2009 Carlo Carli
announced his intention to retire at the end of his term in November 2010. City of Yarra
Councillor Jane Garrett was successful in retaining the seat for Labor at the 2010 election.
