The electoral division of Hobart is one of the fifteen electorates or seats in the Tasmanian Legislative Council
. The seat was created in 2008 after a redistribution saw the former Wellington
returned to its former name.
The division covered the Hobart
suburbs of Battery Point, New Town, West Hobart, Moonah, Mount Stuart, Lutana and Lenah Valley.
The current sitting member is Labor Party
MLC Doug Parkinson. The next election for Hobart is due in 2012.
